Classroom Christmas Parties and Christmas Gifts Your child’s teacher or your homeroom coordinator will be contacting you with information about your child’s class Christmas party. Please refer to page 20 “Holidays and Parties” in the Student Handbook concerning parties and gifts:

"Holidays observed by The Master's School are listed on the yearly calendar...Children of any age not enrolled in the class may not attend class parties." The second paragraph reads, "Students who wish to give gifts to classmates at class parties may do so as long as the student or family has made the gifts.  Please keep in mind the school's Christian philosophy and classical perspective in regard to items brought to celebrate these holidays."

The tradition of making every classmate a gift was not always in place, and began small.  The policy was promoted by well-meaning individuals who did not want new families to be left out.  If a student does not want to participate in a gift exchange, it should not be required.  Please DO NOT feel as though you must make more than a small treat if your child(ren) wish to give gifts to their classmates and teacher.
